'Akito Kawagoe was in a wooden two-story military barrack at the general headquarters of the Second Army at Ohsuga-cho (1,500 meters from the hypocenter). He was burried under the collapsed building, but the crawled out of the debris by himself. His artery was cut and the blood was spraying from a dozen wounds on his body. The wristwatch stopped at 8:15 which was the moment it was exposed to the atomic bomb.'
