Dear Duncan

When I got your mail,i was suprised.

Of course, it's my pleasure! I must apologize for not replying you immediately. It is because I'm charged in the ROC Air Force right now. (I check the mailbox only while I am on break.) and that is to say:I'm from Taiwan.

I'm curious about that if the splendid website was made and edited by yourself? Are you a professional photographer?

How could you create so many photos / texts with quaility?

What's more, visit so many places?

It's a mystery to me:P

Asking the questions above just because I realize it's hard to maintain and update a wedsite. I think you do a good job.

Your site is stylish not in the graph design but the images. To talk about your photos, it's poor for me to express it in English. But I think the Chinese letter"潤" is just hit it! Don't ask my why. I can't exemplify it.

ps : I'm sorry to Add yor website in my Link list without mailing you first. I'm not in purpose. The reason is that I never go to the Link category in your site before till I receive yor mail and review the site again. Then, I found I breaking the rule! Sorry for that.

Regard yours

Hello Eyes-I wanted to tell you that I loved the black and white photos you took in the ossuary section of the church in Sedlec. I am an artist living in Los Angeles, Ca. U.S.A. and I make small shadowbox sculptures with animal bones. ( ethically and honestly gotten bones...it isn't easy! ) Sometimes I get stuck, and need a refresher, and taking a look at your photos was not only helpful to get me back on track, it was truly an aesthetic pleasure as well. I'm keeping you on my favorites list!

Best Regards,

So many online journalists have tried to do what you have done but not succeeded because they were too self-centered and mired in triviality

Duncan succeeds because he resonates with the Spirit of God and when I say God I don't speak of a customized deity in a box

I speak of the true I Am, that which was from before the beginnings.

blessings upon you

Duncan,

I've been meaning to write to you for some time but just haven't got around to it. I first ran across your website nearly a year ago and I've been checking it out from time to time. You've got some interesting stuff on there. It's certainly different and at times thought-provoking.

One of the main reasons I wanted to write is that I see that you're a Christian. That's great... I am too. I'm also a bit of an amateur photographer. You can check out my website at www.lonelight.com if you like. It's all Hong Kong stuff. There's not rhyme or reason to most of it... I just shoot whatever I'm interested in at the time.

Check it out and let me know what you think. And if you'd like to meet up for a lai cha (or iced coffee, for you) some time, just drop me a line.

Cheers,
Mark Johnson

Hi

I found it very deep and sensitive, with all it's nostalgic melancholy.

Congratulations for your art!

Great Photos of Tibet. How long did you stay in Tibet and what time of year were you there- Winter, Summer, March or June?

Dear eyecoffee webmaster,

I feel surprised to receive your thank you letter. Thanks! Your site is really great! Some of the pictures are touching and make me reflect. I know this website by random searching. I was searching for the information about Lan Kwai Fong, then I coincidently found eyecoffee. I would like to know what kind of organization it is? So, keeping updating and I'll check it from time to time!

Hi Duncan

It was great hearing from you.

Your site is quite big. I still have to explored it. So far I've liked many topics in the Reality section. Are they your personal projects? Do you shoot for commercial clients as well? The covers are also cool. I've also seen the Lai Chi Kok Hospital topics in the Dream section...that one seems to be a bit 'obsure'?

Do you sell your pictures?

I think it's a good idea for photographers to try get funded by the Government. They have a funding project. I know that last year a photographer published one, I know the paper supplier and the printer who sponsored the paper and printing, that's how I noticed about photographer getting funded by the Government to publish works. And I can see your work appropriate too, 'cos some of your works relate to Hong Kong.

I did contact a few Government departments regarding the model issue. It seems like in Hong Kong there's no such rule but people deserve the right--meaning if they find their faces in your book and they want to get their model fee, they can do so. But if they are from overseas, that'll be very hard. And, of course, the lawyers would recommend that always get a model release...but, as I have asked a couple photographers, it's simply not possible in many cases.

I like Nepal too. That's the first time I took so many pictures. Please have a look, if you are interested.

Please also let me know your thoughts:

?.dir=/Trip+to+Nepal+December+2002&.view=t

Talk to you soon. And do let me know when you consider publishing your works!

Happy new year,
Edvard

Hello Duncan,

I'm writing to ask permission to use some of your Beijing photographs (http://www.eyescoffee.com/beijing/index.html) in a small "Send A Postcard" application I'm going to be adding in the near future to my website, "The Chinese Outpost".

I should point out firstly that "The Chinese Outpost" is a hobby/small business site with no real budget, so I'm not able to pay license fees for image use. All I can offer is photo credit and links back to your site alongside the images to provide exposure to your work and possibly add some increased traffic to your site.

A little more about my site: from April, 1998 until this past December, "The Chinese Outpost" was just an "Introduction to Mandarin Chinese" tutorial that was designed to teach new learners about the language and give them a good foundation from which to start their studies.

The tutorial is still included in the new version of the site, which went online on January 1st, but now I am adding a number of other features to it, such as a gallery, forum, newsletter, and shops. You can browse through the current site at www.chinese-outpost.com.

If you give your permission, visitors to my site would be able to select your photographs as the images for "E-Cards" that they send to their friends. What the recipients receive an e-mail with a link to view the card on my site. The photographs themselves aren't actually sent by e-mail.

The postcard application, which is not linked into the rest of the site yet, but where I'd like to add some of your photographs, is at www.chinese-outpost.com/ecards. It contains only "test" cards for now to show you how this would work - you can get an idea of how the application works by sending a test card to yourself.

Thank you in advance for considering this request - please let me know if you have any questions I haven't answered yet - and in any case, thank you for sharing your photography on the web. Your photographs are wonderful.

Best regards,

Mark Baker

Hi Duncan

This is Edvard from Hong Kong. I am a graphic design manager who have been working with photographers. I have become interested in photography.

I saw your eyescoffee.com. The pictures are great. Does the magazine also exist in print format? Have you ever published your pictures before?

As I have recently taken some pictures from Nepal, I am considering publishing some of them. However, many of the pictures are people shots and I have no model release. I don't know if that'll cause any problem. Do you know what's the usual practice of photographers who take pictures of people (real people, not models) on the street. Do they usually get model releases from the subject they shoot?

Hope you can answer my questions and many thanks in advance.

After I've enjoyed your pictures.

Cheers

Hi Duncan,

I am sorry that, I put a very cool link (eyescoffee.com) in my poor page, and without your accept. Actually may I?
um....I am not the one in photopower, I am Terry's friend, and just help him to be a model in PP's funcation, so...

And it is very very professional of your photo, I like it very very much, especially in "Czech"- Prague, I love Prague so much, even I never been to there!

Can I ask, are you professional photographer?
I mean is it your job?

That's my pleasure you send me a e-mail!
Thanks so much!
